La Paloma - Eugenia León
Was mir bis vor kurzem völlig unbekannt war, ist, dass La Paloma (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_paloma) das am meisten interpretierte Lied der Welt ist und dass es davon mehr als 2000 Versionen gibt. Vergessen wir die armseligen Cover-Versionen von Hans Albers und Freddy Quinn (Meine Güte!), dann sehen wir mehr, zum Beispiel, dass das Lied um 1860 von einem Basken auf Kuba komponiert wurde. Oder auch, dass dieses Lied Nationalhymnen-Charakter in Mexiko hat (schon der mexikanische Kaiser - ein Habsburger - hat es gehört, der Legende zufolge sogar kurz vor seiner Exekution), dass es mit den Gitarren nach Hawaii gelangte und dort noch immer gespielt wird, dass man es in Ungarn auf Beerdigungen hört und auf Sansibar (in Suaheli) auf Hochzeiten.
